About the Role
The Head of Site Engineering at Takeda is an important leadership role at the Neuchâtel biologics manufacturing facility, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and overseeing the Site Engineering function that supports GMP production. You will support the manufacturing of quality products following budgets, volumes, yields, and plans, while also managing capital programs. Your role will involve strategic collaboration as a trusted advisor within the Neuchâtel Site Leadership Team and the Biologics Engineering Leadership Team. You will report directly to the Site Lead at Neuchâtel.
How you will contribute

Responsible for performance management and professional development of 7 direct reports and 100 + Neuchâtel site Engineering employees.

Allocate resources, assign priority to tasks and act as an advisor to Site Senior Management in delivery of value-added services for the Site

Manage the Capex portfolio for the Site with investment opportunities

Manage budgets and contract resources

Ensure all engineering business processes are developed in partnership with other departments including Manufacturing, Manufacturing Sciences, and Environmental Health & Safety.

Oversee proper maintenance and safe operation of site facilities, utilities, and equipment, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements (cGMP and EHS).

Ensure equipment availability to support manufacturing needs and manage major maintenance activities, including plant shutdowns.

Maintain organizational agility for prompt resolution of operational issues, delivering compliant and engineered solutions to improve system and equipment reliability.

Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, efficiency, continuous improvement, and agile mentality according to Takeda’s cultural values and behaviours.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Engineering with at least 12 years of experience in engineering or facilities within the biotech/pharmaceutical sector.

Expertise in bioprocess engineering and systems/equipment/automation is necessary, along with 10+ years of managerial experience leading engineering teams and managers.

Fluency in both French and English is required.

You will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering strategic direction and being an internal consultant.

As a catalyst for change, you will develop an efficient engineering team, driving technical proficiency and leadership development.

You will promote innovation in automation, robotics, and support digital and data excellence programs at Takeda.
