Your role:
As a Biotech Manufacturing Lead Scientist specializing in Downstream Processing (DSP), you will be essential in ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, compliance, and reliability in drug substance production. Your expertise in biotech manufacturing operations and process control will drive continuous improvement initiatives and support our manufacturing teams in addressing complex challenges. You will lead the implementation of best practices in manufacturing operations, process control, and validation, providing scientific and technical expertise during production issues and improvement projects. Acting as the leading scientist of the MSAT Center of Expertise in Vevey, you will help solve major challenges for the drug substance manufacturing network. Collaboration with local and global teams will be key as you identify and implement innovative solutions. You will maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in biotech processes through literature reviews and industry connections, ensuring that our practices remain cutting-edge. Coaching and training staff to enhance their expertise while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards will be part of your responsibilities. Engaging with external scientific communities will keep you updated on the latest manufacturing strategies and technologies, positioning you as a leader in the field.

Who you are:

  • You hold a PhD in Biotechnology or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • You have a strong background in biotech process development and manufacturing, particularly in Downstream Processing (DSP).
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of cGMP regulations and health authority requirements.
  • You have a proven track record of driving process improvements in a manufacturing setting.
  • You are fluent in both English and French, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are passionate about innovation and collaboration within a dynamic team environment.
  • You are committed to enhancing the quality of life through science and technology.
  • You have the ability to engage effectively with external scientific communities and industry networks.
